Recipe card: Classic Strawberry Banana Smoothie with frozen strawberries, banana, yogurt and milk

Frozen strawberries instead of ice keep the flavor strong. A fresh banana is fine here, because the strawberries already make the smoothie cold.

Plain yogurt makes it creamy; vanilla yogurt makes it sweeter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (about 150 g) frozen strawberries
  • 1 medium banana, fresh or frozen
  • ½ cup (about 120 g) plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk

Method

  1. Pour the milk into the blender, then add the yogurt.
  2. Add the strawberries and banana. Blend for 45–60 seconds, until smooth.
  3. Add a splash of milk if it's too thick. Pour and drink right away.

Tips for the best texture

  • Watery smoothie? Fresh strawberries plus ice usually cause it. Frozen strawberries give a thicker result.
  • If the strawberries are sour, use a ripe banana with brown spots to sweeten it.
  • Halve the recipe for a kid-size smoothie.
